Hard Times

During the Great Depression many unemployed, unmarried young men from relief families enrolled in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC).  My father, Harry B. Reinhardt, Sr., was one of them.  He served at Camp S-118-PA in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania from 20 April 1935 to 12 May 1936.  During his time in the CCC, Camp S-118-PA was responsible for building roads and bridges during the construction of Parker Dam State Park.

One of the requirements of the CCC was that these men send a $25 out of their $30 per month salary home to help support their families.
