Ross and Owen

January 2006 — December 2006

January

Happy birthday to Granny and Uncle Bud…and to you too Elvis, wherever you are!

February

Owen celebrates his Sixth Birthday ths month. And in February’s other big event, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this year so it looks like Winter will be around for a while.

March

Lots of birthdays this month…Happy Birthday to All!

Ross and Pop-Pop celebrated their birthdays on the same day…March 12. Ross is nine years old; Pop-Pop is somewhat older than that! And cousin Gina’s birthday is in March too.

The dogs also celebrated their birthdays this month. Gunston is five and Piggy is four.

April

Well, it’s April and the rain has arrived right on schedule. We had more rain the first few days of April than all of March. According to the weather forecasters, this past March was one of the driest on record.

Aunt Janet visited with a us for a few days this month. We took her and Granny to the National Zoo to see Tai Shan. We saw lions and tigers but no bears…we ran out of time! But we did get to see giraffes, hippos, gorillas, capybaras, and lots of other interesting animals.

May

Happy Mother’s Day to Mom, Granny and Nana.

We’re both anxious for this year’s school term to come to an end and start our summer vacation. And, for Dad and Mom to open our pool for the Summer!

June

Happy Father’s Day to Dad, Pop-Pop and Papa

Earlier this month, we all went to a picnic at North Middletown Township Recreational Park near Carlisle, PA, which is about a two hour drive from our house. It was really a combination picnic/birthday party for Uncle Max’s dad. Uncle Max is a kid about the same age as us. Granny and Aunt Janet were there too.

The really big event for this month is that our summer vacation from school started on the 14th. We had a pool party and ice cream to celebrate. Mom is really happy that we will be home with her all day, every day until September!

And we just found out Ross will be in the Futura program at school this coming fall.

July

Happy Birthday to Dad!  And to the USA too!

We had some visitors this month. Pop-Pop’s two brothers and their wives (our Great Uncles and Aunts) came to see us. We all went to the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Center in Chantilly, VA. We saw lots of old and new airplanes, and even saw a Space Shuttle.

August

We went on a short vacation this month to the Allegheny National Forest. Some friends of Mom and Dad have a cabin there. On the way back home, we went to the annual family reunion at the Mon Valley YMCA in Carroll Township, PA. And then we spent a day at Kennywood Park before heading back home.

We’re back home now, enjoying the last few week of our Summer vacation and getting ready for school, which starts at the end of the month.

September

World Trade Center, Pentagon, Shanksville…This month’s page is dedicated to the victims and the heroes of September 11, 2001.

Its “Back to School” month. I’m in fourth grade this year and Owen is in first grade. Owen will have to get used to spending all day in school now. We both go to the same school and ride together on the bus every day.

October

Happy Birthday Mom!

We’ve been in our new house for one year now.

Get the candy ready! Halloween is coming and we can’t wait to go Trick or Treating with all the new friends we’ve made in the past year.

November

Time for turkey, pumpkin pie and all that other stuff that goes with Thanksgiving. This year, we will be celebrating Thanksgiving at home with Mom, Dad, the Grandparents, Uncle Bud and Linda, and all the dogs.

December
