This Month’s News…

Mom and Dad went to the German Armed Forces Command Oktoberfest, which is held every year in a German hanger at Dulles International Airport. An abundance of German beer was flown in for the event. There was also an endless supply of bratwurst, sauerkraut and many other German delicacies. The band played throughout the night. This Oktoberfest classic was a big hit!

The pool has been winterized and is now closed until next spring. The dogs have, as usual, exercised their squatters rights on the pool cover.

This image was created by an AI program called DALL-E. It generates images based on written phrases. Pop-Pop entered the text “Two pugs and a Heinz dog.” This was the result. Does it look familiar?

Winnie is now a certified “Pub Crawler.” Mom and Dad took her on a test run to the Black Hoof Brewery and she passed with flying colors!

Pop-Pop had his first root canal this month. He said the cost of the root canal was much more painful than the actual procedure.

Here’s all the news that’s fit to print for this month and some which probably isn’t. 😉

Summer must be over…the Autumnal Tree has arrived.  As each day passes more Autumnal paraphernalia appears!

A few days ago, this corner of the yard was the home of a large maple tree. It has since moved to the firewood rack.

The Pyrex Collection is still growing. The grandfather clock in the corner of the dining room has been moved to the office and replaced by yet another Pyrex display.

The annual Family Reunion takes place on the first Saturday of August each year in Carroll Township, PA. On the 6th of this month it occurred again after a two year absence due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

While we were in Pennsylvania for the reunion, Mom, Dad, Aunt Janet and Owen took a side trip to the Mingo Creek Craft Distillery. This resulted in a number of bottles of various Liberty Pole Whiskeys making the trip back home with us.

Mom, Dad and friends spent some time in Colonial Williamsburg. A good time was had by all…except Cosmo, Toby and Winnie, who were not invited and missed their Step-Mommy!

We had bumper crops of both Zucchini and Cucumber this year. This resulted in many loaves of Zucchini Bread, various Baked Zucchini dishes, Cucumber Salads, and lots of Pickles.

We had our Internet access connection speed increased from 75 megabits per second (75MBps) to 1000 megabits per second (1000MBps = 1 Gigabit per second). As expected there were noticeable benefits, especially less buffering delay in streaming applications such as Netflix, HULU, etc.

Pop-Pop insisted that we also include his drawing of our current local network stuff. (which nobody understands including him!)
