We’ve taken in another foster Pug. His name is Toby and he is staying with us until he finds a permanent home. If you known anyone who is looking for a great little dog let us know.
Aunt Janet came to visit us for a few days this month. The weather was nice so she got to spend time in our pool before it gets closed down for the year.
We had a busy month. On the first Saturday of the month, we made our annual pilgrimage to the Reinhardt Family Reunion at the Mon Valley YMCA in Carroll Township, PA. On the way, we picked up Owen, who was finishing up a week at Boy Scout Camp in the Laurel Highlands. A good time was had by all but the trip home was no fun at all. There was an accident on I68 in Cumberland, MD that brought eastbound traffic to a complete halt for almost two hours.
We spent a few days at home and then off we went again. This time we were headed north to the Pine Tree State, with stops in between at the home of the Molly MacGuires and Dunder Mifflin and the home of the Yankee Peddler. We spent the majority of our time in Maine, taking in the sights, including Acadia National Park, and devouring lobster, with a stop in Boston, MA for a day or so on our way home.
Our “dog count” doubled this month. A few day ago Mom took in two Pugs who needed a foster home. We have four dogs and counting now.
We will be heading back to school on the 29th of this month. I will be a sophomore (tenth grade) at Tuscarora High School and Owen will be in his second year (seventh grade) at Smart’s Mill Middle School.
Pug Update: Marie and Louie were adopted on 25 August 2012 and are now living with their new family in Montgomery County, MD.
We spent a week with friends at Deep Creek Lake this month. It was great to get away from the record-breaking heat we were having at home.
A “Derecho” came through our area late last month and left a quite a bit of damage due to fallen trees and high winds. Granny and Pop-Pop’s power was out for an extended period, so they packed up their freezer contents and the dogs and spent some time at our place. There was no damage to their house but two large tree limbs snapped off and fell in their backyard.
