Ross asked Hannah a question earlier this month. She answered in the affirmative. As a result she is now in possession of a shiny new ring with an Emerald setting. Why an Emerald you ask? Well, might have something to do with this…she’s a Plant Pathologist!

The Oktoberfest celebrations continue. Mom and Dad went to at least one more local brewpub-sponsored Oktoberfest. They also procured a mini-keg of genuine German beer and held their own “Backyard Oktoberfest.”

Toby and Cosmo celebrated National Pug Day on October 15th. The Pugs invited Winnie to the festivities with one condition – she had to participate in all of the “Begging” activities!

Mom, Dad and friends spent a long weekend in Nashville, Tennessee. Some of the notable Nashville hangouts they hit were:

A good time was had by all, except for the ride home. They had to get up at “Zero-Dark-Thirty” to catch their flight back to Virginia.

August is our “Family Reunion Month.” The
This is Mom’s latest addition to her Pyrex Collection. She got it from a guy in Charleroi, PA. The vast majority of Pyrex products were manufactured in the Corning Glass Plant located there. And there’s more to this story. He noticed Mom’s maiden name and asked her if she had relatives that once lived in Charleroi. Pop-Pop’s family did indeed live in Charleroi…in the same neighborhood as his family. Pop-Pop’s brothers are around the same age as he is and they were good friends back in the day! A real
Yet another watermelon failed the “Drop Test” this month. Maybe we should consider removing this test as a requirement for “Watermelon Certification.” Or at least changing the test drop height requirement.

Two very important birthdays this month: The
The big news this month was the change in ownership of Washington’s NFL team. Fans are hoping the new owners will replace the unpopular “Commanders” name, rebuild the organization and bring back a winning tradition.

Both the zucchini plants and the blackberry patch are doing really great this year. They must really like all the sunny 90°+ days!
Owen recently learned what a clutch is and how to drive a car with a standard transmission…his “new” classic 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX. Ross spent a long weekend in
Dad is back in the brewing business. He and a couple of friends made some home-brew a few weeks ago. It should be ready to consume in a month or so.
