Happy Father’s Day to Dad and Pop-Pop!

Granny, Pop-Pop and Piggy have been renting out the basement for a year now.  Guess they’re here to stay.  Pop-Pop has said for years that becoming a burden on his kids in his old age was the first entry on his bucket list.  Looks like he’s getting his wish, at least in Mom’s case.

Ross has been a busy guy this month.  He had his graduation party on the 13th, went on the All-Night Senior Trip to Dave and Buster’s on the 16th, graduated from THS on the 18th, and immediately left for four days at the Firefly Music Festival.

Owen was busy with his final exams and his swimming.  He is one of the top swimmers in his age class.  And, of course he continued his quest to become a 32nd Degree Gamemaster.

The 2014/2015 school year was officially over on June 16th.  When the fall term begins, Owen will be a sophomore at THS.  He’ll have to ride the bus this fall as his chauffeur Ross will be in Morgantown, WV as a freshman at WVU if all goes as planned.  Pop-Pop told Ross he better get busy and commit the lyrics of Take Me Home Country Roads to memory.

Warbirds

May 8th marked the 70 year anniversary of VE Day.  To commemorate this event, a number of vintage WWII aircraft conducted a Flyover of the nation’s capitol.  Our neighborhood was in the flight path.  We didn’t get to see the planes because we were in school, but Mom and our neighbor got some good photos of the planes as they flew south towards DC.

April 2015

The first of April is the day we remember what we are the other 364 days of the year.  Let us be thankful for the fools.  But for them the rest of us could not succeed. — Mark Twain

The family spent a long weekend in the Big Apple this month.  While there, we met up with Mom’s cousin Brian, who lives in New York City, and had lunch with him at the legendary Katz’s Deli.

One year ago, Ross began his career in the food service industry making sandwiches at Jimmy John’s.  This month, he left Jimmy John’s to become a “burger and fries” guy at Five Guys.

Like this time last year, Owen is still chasing his dream of becoming a World-Class Gamer.  He does, however, take time out from gaming to swim and go to church youth group meetings.  He’s also busy planning upgrades to his computer to make his games run faster.
