April 2014

The first of April is the day we remember what we are the other 364 days of the year.  Let us be thankful for the fools.  But for them the rest of us could not succeed. — Mark Twain

Ross began his career in the food service industry this month.  He now has a part-time job at Jimmy John’s, purveyor of fine gourmet sandwiches.  He has also been on a couple of “College Tours” this spring.  As a result, it has finally occurred to him that it is the college that decides to accept him as opposed to him honoring the college with his presence.

Owen has been quite busy training to become a World-Class Gamer and coming up with creative explanations about why he did not do the chores assigned to him on the household to-do list.

Pop-Pop and Granny are in the process of selling their house.  Once the house is sold, they are planning on moving in with us for a while.  Pop-Pop always said they were going to move into our basement and become a burden on us in their old age.  Guess he really meant it!!

March 2014

Happy Birthday to Ross, Pop-Pop, Gina, Jill in Florida, Ryan in China, Pop-Pop’s friend Pat in Morgantown, and Gunston!

Ross and Pop-Pop celebrated their birthdays on the 12th of this month. Ross was 17 years old; Pop-Pop says he can’t remember how old he is.

In addition to all the birthdays, Granny and Pop-Pop’s wedding anniversary is on March 1st.  Pop-Pop said it doesn’t much matter which one it is since he stopped counting them many years ago.

Granny and Pop-Pop’s dog Miss Piggy went to the doggy dentist this month.  She got a long overdue cleaning and fluoride treatment. She also had to have three teeth extracted.  Her barker was broken for a couple of days after the procedure, but it is now back to normal.

And Baby Julia was 16 months old on Saint Patrick’s Day.

February 2014

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OWEN AND PIGGY!

ghday_thumbThe big event this month is Owen’s Birthday.  He will be 14 years old on February 25th.  The second biggest event this month is Piggy’s birthday.  Owen is hoping for big bucks from Pop-Pop and Granny as his birthday present.  Piggy is again hoping for someone to spill an entire box of Cheerios on the floor.

In other news, Phil saw his shadow and declared that there will not be an early spring.  His prediction is looking good so far.  We haven’t had this much snow in February for many years.
