April 2012

The first of April is the day we remember what we are the other 364 days of the year.  Let us be thankful for the fools.  But for them the rest of us could not succeed. — Mark Twain

Bunny BreadNot much new this month.  The weather is back to normal.  More like a typical Spring now rather than the Summer-like weather that we had in March.

Granny, Pop-Pop and the dogs came to visit on Easter Sunday.  Granny brought her usual Easter Baskets filled with way too much candy (according to Mom, not us!).  And Bunny Bread showed up again on this year’s Easter Dinner table.  Looks like it’s becoming a tradition!

March 2012

Happy Birthday to Ross, Pop-Pop, Gina, Pop-Pop’s friend Pat in Morgantown, and Gunston!

Ross and Pop-Pop celebrated their birthdays on the 12th of this month.  Ross was 15 years old; Pop-Pop was a few years older.

The weather here this March has been really warm.  Most days have been 10 to 15 degrees warmer than average.  March came in like a lamb; hope it doesn’t go out like a lion.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

February 2012

Happy Birthday to Owen and Piggy!

groundhog dayThe big event this month is Owen’s Birthday.  He will be 12 years old on February 25th.  The second biggest event this month is Piggy’s birthday.  Owen is hoping for a subscription to MAD Magazine as a birthday present.  Piggy is hoping for someone to spill an entire box of Cheerios on the floor.

In other news, Ross earned a letter for his performance on the Tuscarora High School Swim Team.  Not bad for a rookie!

And last, but certainly not least, Phil saw his shadow and declared that there will be six more weeks of winter.  His prediction is not looking good so far.  It’s been warmer than usual this winter and we’ve only had a few light dustings of snow.  Some of the early spring flowers are already beginning to sprout.
