January
Happy Birthday Granny and Uncle Buddy!
And to you too Elvis, wherever you are.
February
Happy Birthday Owen!
Punxsutawney Phil says there are at least six more weeks of winer! I guess Owen and I won’t be spending too much time playing outside yet. But there is lots of sports stuff to watch on TV this month. First the Super Bowl and then the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. And we are still busy playing with all the new toys we got for Christmas.
Owen will be two years old on 25 February 2002.
March
Birthday Boys!
Last month was Owen’s birthday but now its my turn! On 12 March I was five years old. Happy Birthday to Me! And to my Pop-Pop, whose birthday is on the same day as mine.
For my birthday party, we all went bowling at the Bowl America in Sterling, VA. Owen is still to little to bowl, so Pop-Pop helped him play video games!
April
The first of April is the day we remember what we are the other 364 days of the year. Let us be thankful for the fools. But for them the rest of us could not succeed. — Mark Twain
We went to the Easter Egg Roll at Dubya’s house on 1 April 2002! See you all in the Magic City next month!
May
Happy Mother’s Day to Mom and the Grannies
We’ve been on the road this month. We spent May 4th through May 10th at Deep Creek Lake, MD. Then we went to Charleroi, PA to see GG for Mother’s Day weekend and finally back home on May 13th. We had lots of fun, but Owen got in trouble. He set off the fire alarm at the hotel we were staying in while visiting GG!
June
Happy Father’s Day to Dad and the Grandpaps
Lets see, what’s new this month? On June 1, Granny and Pop-Pop went to the “Race for the Cure” in Washington, DC and walked 5 kilometers (3.1 miles). Ross “graduated” from Pre-School. He’ll be going to Kindergarten in the Fall.
July
Happy Birthday to Dad, Buster and the USA!
Granny and Pop-Pop are getting ready to go to the Jamboree in the Hills again this year. They better bring some swag back for me and Owen.>
August
Reunion Time!
The annual family reunion was great but the weather was really hot. But we didn’t let that bother us too much since it was not as hot as where we live. And, as usual, there was lots of food. And best of all, there was lots of stuff for kids to do.
September
9/11 – Never Forget!
Ross started Kindergarten this month and gets to ride the school bus every day. And Pop-Pop says for everybody to remember to take a moment to honor all the 9/11 victims and heroes.
October
Bubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble
Fillet of a fenny snake, in the cauldron boil and bake: eye of newt and toe of frog, wool of bat and tongue of dog, adder’s fork and blind-worm’s sting, lizard’s leg and howler’s wing, for a charm of pow’rful trouble, like a hell-broth boil and bubble. — Second Witch, “Macbeth,” IV:1
Hey! Get the candy ready! We’re going Trick or Treating.
November
Happy Thanksgiving
Well, its “Turkey Time” again. We’re all going to Charleroi, PA on Thanksgiving weekend to visit GG. And maybe we’ll stop by to see Rosemary, the Brians and Gina too. But only if they have toys and cookies!
December
Merry Christmas
Time for Santa to bring us a new supply of toys! And also time to wish for Peace on Earth and Goodwill to All.
See you next month...
Ross & Owen
