Happy 1999 Everybody!
January is Birthday Month for “Granny” and “Uncle Bud,” who is my Mom’s brother. Uncle Bud’s birthday is on the same day as the King of Rock and Roll’s. And my Granny is still one of his biggest fans! You should see her “Elvis Shrine Room.” It even has an “Elvis Phone!”
We had a combined birthday party at my house.

Still a Toddler
Next month I’ll be two years old. Guess I’m old news now as nobody seems to be taking any pictures of me lately!
And Pop-Pop says the dogs are still smarter than I am.
March
Goodbye Toddler Years!
Hi there! I was two years old on March 12th. And nobody is allowed to call me baby or toddler any more! I’m now known as “Ross the Kid.”
And Pop-Pop had a birthday on March 12th too. He’s a bit older than me.
We all went out to dinner at an Italian restaurant to celerate the birthdays. I had spaghetti and meatballs. After dinner, we went to Granny and Pop-Pop’s house and blew out the candles on my Mickey Mouse Birthday Cake. And I got a lot of presents! Uncle Buster and Zeddie were there too.

Happy Birthday to Dad, Buster and the USA!
Mom, Dad and I went to the beach two times this month. Once to Ocean City, MD and once to Virginia Beach, VA. I had lots of fun playing in the sand and surf! And, we also celebrated Dad’s and Buster’s birthdays this month. On the Fourth of July, I saw lots of fireworks.
August
Reunion Month
On August 8th Mom, Dad and I went to the family reunion in Charleroi, PA. GG, Pop-Pop, Granny, Uncle Bud, and a whole bunch of other relatives were there. At last count, there were 45 people and two dogs at the reunion. My third cousin Austin from St. Louis, MO and I had lots of fun playing and hanging around together. We’re both about the same age. Austin was born in January 1997 and and I was born in March 1997. And we both have the same Great-Great-Great Grandfather!

Summer’s Over!
Not much going on now that Fall is just about here except that I got to ride a pony last weekend! So I asked Granny to buy me a pony and she did! But I guess I need to be more explicit next time I ask for something!

My two “Uncle Buds” are graduates of Virgina Tech. And Pop-Pop took some post-graduate courses there so I guess he considers himself a “semi-alum” and he roots for the Hokies too! Maybe I’ll go to Virginia Tech too someday (or JMU or GMU or UVA or Harvard or MIT or ???).

Merry Christmas
This is the last month of the year (and this century!) Lots of people say its the start of the new Millennium, but my Pop-Pop says it really isn’t! He says that won’t be here until 1 January 2001, since the Romans who invented our present calendar did not know about the number “0.”
That’s interesting stuff (I guess!), but kids like me just want to have fun and get more toys from Santa!
